This weekend, like lots of other places around the world, we got a lot of snow. However here in Amman in the desert, the snow isn't so common, and everyone seized the opportunity to go out and see the new fallen white stuff.

Congratulations to the two winners of the Versailles Kit, Heidi D and Carin, check your emails for download instructions. Thanks to everyone who left me a comment, it's great to get some feedback!

Today marks the start of new freebies from the Versailles kit. I spent a rainy/sunny day in Versailles this summer, and it really was a fairy tale kind of place. If you're impatient for all the assets to come out, on Friday I'll be having a drawing for two winners for the entire kit. If you'd like it, leave me a comment to let me know!

All the freebies for Paris are up, so if you want to see what you missed, check that out here. Starting on Monday, I'll be adding assets from my new kit, Versailles, which I'm sure you can imagine will have a somewhat regal and formal feel, in pastel! Here are a few layouts to give you an idea of what's coming.

It's been winter for a while, but unlike a lot of winters I've lived through, it's often colder inside the house than it is outside. Everyone enojys escaping out to find some sunny patches and looking forward to spring.

I made this quick tutorial to show you how I make washi tape. If you have any better tips, be sure to leave them in the comments!

For this tutorial, I use this brush set which you need to install in your Adobe presets folder first:
Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets\Brushes

Another great tutorial for making the washi tape look realistic on your layout can be found here.

This marks the start of a new trend watch feature here on the site, and I'm hoping to take it one step further. I want to show you how to actually make these into assets for yourself.

To kick things off, I'm going to focus on washi tape. The patterns and colors make it irresistable. I've been playing around with making my own, and tomorrow I hope to post a tutorial that shows just that. For now, here are some images that have inspired me, and there's more at my Pinterest board.
