It's time for this month's layout templates, and they look really fun! There's always a break in time from when I make these to when I post about them here and as the time passes I completely forget what I made. So then when I see the kit again I feel I can judge it objectively because I've completely forgotten making it.

Over the summer I took some time to consider scrapbooking myths here on the blog. One of the myths I included was needing to have perfect pictures to scrapbook. There can certainly be a lot of pressure to get that perfect photo so you can include it in the scrapbook. But most of us are probably working with less than ideal photos most of the time.

I have been really feeling the mixed media look lately, definitely working on more for the future. I love using these random pieces on my layouts, and the freedom of not really having any purpose for my layout except putting on things that catch my eye. Although first I have to create these graphics that will inspire me later on.

Last month I wrote a post about my love for bright colors. Like the colors I had included, it was a bit intense. I'm hoping this post will be a bit more welcoming and soothing, like the colors themselves.

I'm excited to share today an new collage kit, plus an opportunity to use it! I decided to focus on a certain word to inspire this month's collage, and I thought it might be nice to encourage the community to consider the word as well.

I have definite preferences when it comes to the colors I like. In fact it might be possible that the strongest opinions I hold about anything may be about color. I will entertain a lot of ideas about life, but if you are here to tell me that your favorite color is blue I will cry a little in my heart. This means my heart is often crying because people are nuts about blue. And in fact the main reason I don't like blue is because I feel like it's overused. There are other colors you know!

I was scrolling through the new kits recently and noticed that there were a lot of great new quick page kits for digital scrapbooking recently made available. I will confess that I'm part of this situation as I've really gotten into a quick page making mode lately. I love the process of making a layout, and it turns out that I love making a layout without a photo in it. Then I can just focus in on the elements and papers, who cares if they match my photo! Later, I'll eventually find a photo I think matches my layout.
