Designer Madness Coming in November!

It's been a while since we've had a Designer Madness here in the forums and I thought we'd give it a try in November.

In the past what I have done is create a daily list of things for people to make, something for every day of the month. You don't need to actually have time to work on it every day, you can always catch up on a couple of days at once.

Is there anything else people would like to add? Any specific things people are interested in learning or areas where they would like to be challenged?

I'm considering live streaming my own process working through the prompts. Does that sound interesting? Our schedule is unpredictable enough that I don't imagine many people would be free to watch live, but the replay would be available.

Let me know what you want to do and if you want to join us choose your palette and share below. Prompts will be posted starting November 1.

Sounds like so much fun! I’ll have to hang back and see what it’s all about. If there is anything I feel I could add could I chime in after November 1st?

Sounds like fun. I think live streaming will get the creative juices flowing.

Sounds great! Something different to challenge the creative juices is always welcome!

I think I want to do it

Que ideia boa! vou tentar participar ao vivo.

Oh how fun! Count me in. Being able to see live streaming would be great (or playback if i missed the live). There are a few things I've had difficulty with and would like to learn. I will start with the one I've struggled with recently - making enamel charms. I downloaded the styles but mine look nothing like what I've seen here.

So....this is like Inktober, but for scrappers, and in November? Scrapember Madness? smiley This sounds like what I need to challenge me to get started with making my own elements. I'm going to try to play along, newbie or no.

I think I'd do it. Sounds like fun!

Great! For people who want to join you’ll want to choose the palette you want to work with. By then end of the month you should have a finished digital scrapbooking kit with elements and papers. If you want to tweak the daily prompts because you don’t want to make papers or elements or whatever, that’s totally welcome. The only goal is to make stuff!

This sounds interesting! I would love to learn how to add some overall background texture to paper without changing the color much. I have tried mapping (PSCS6) with some success but it seems like there must be an easier way.

This sounds like fun! I am glad it is flexible, and I look forward to learning some new things, too! smiley

Wasn't sure if we were going for the name "Designer Madness" or if we chose our own so I chose one for now. If need be it can be changed.

Hmmm, I have been working hard to learn to Midjourney AI and write prompts. Then I incorporate pieces and bits into my layouts utilizing bits and bobs from here too. We are photographers so my focus is on creating photomanipulations, not scrapbooking per se. I cutout from our photos a lot to combine later. Not sure if you want totally new creations from scratch, or if the combos I use could work too...Oh, and I use Photoshop, Nik and Topaz. No skills with any other design programs.

I hope I did this right! Excited to play, and I picked a theme based on the most-requested voted - genealogy. All pieces will go into the Commons when I have access, so I get to improve and learn as well as hopefully giving back to this awesome site.

Not sure if my copied image will upload, but I like Nellie's palette, so if it is ok, I will copy hers. smiley

Hi

I am having trouble posting my palette and theme image. Trying to use Imjur. ow are other people doing it? Thanks

My kids have been trying to get me to make a full set of monthly kits based on the Jewish calendar, so I'm going to try to get one of them done. December's month is Kislev. It's a somewhat odd place to start but it does have a holiday - Chanukah. Now to find a color palette.

Sounds fun ! Would definitely watch the replays. I am on a short break from work over the next couple of days, this should let me have some time to think of a palette and a theme.

Sounds great to me. If you want it posted without the pigs let me know smiley

@Sarah Evans I always had problems uploading my images so I had to post my image to a draft on my blog then right click the image and copy image address to use in the image link here. Hope that made sense. It is the only way that works for me. Maybe others can tell you an easier way.

I use Imgur and don't have that many issues, There was a tut posted on one of the forms on how to use Imgur. I will look for it and share.
Marisa, this Designer Madness sounds like fun. Going to give it a bash. Thanks

This is my color pallete. I am still working on the name of the kit.

smiley So great, looking forward to this! Not sure if I can pull it off live, so the videos are a real dealmaker. Lovely Colors , ladies!

I am clueless as to how to do most of the things that I see here so I will be watching along. Sounds like fun!

Glad to have everyone on board! I’m hoping to get a few minutes to record choosing my palette.

@Susan: feel free to use the prompts however makes sense for you.
@Sarah: instructions for posting in the forums https://www.digitalscrapbook.com/forum/general-discussion/posting-imagesphotos-forums

This looks like fun!

Here is my palette.

The Topic is the 150th anniversary of my Public Library, as well as many Public Libraries around the US (thanks to Robber Baron Andrew Carnegie). Check with your local library - yours might be celebrating the 150th anniversary, too. If not, you might have an original Carnegie Library in your town.

Also Melvil Dewey, the guy who came up with the Dewey Decimal classification system, devised the system 150 years ago in 1873. It took 2+ years to become finalized, but was quickly adopted thereafter.

Sherry, your palette is beautiful!

I will sign up for this, not sure if I will do everything (because I usually go overboard with ideas that springboard off other ideas, and end up making a lot of things, then don't finish by deadline!), but I will have a go.

I have a LOT of palettes saved on my computer, some I have made myself, some I have downloaded from palette sites, and have narrowed my choice down to between 4-5 palettes. I'll upload mine when I make a decision!

Here is my palette:

I plan to use the magenta, dusty pink and teal as the main colours, with the gold, parchment, silver and charcoal as accent colours.

I made this moodboard with some free stock photos. I'll try to keep up with the game.
