We believe that Black Lives Matter

Dear DigitalScrapbook.com community:

As most of you are likely aware, there has been a lot of pain and unrest globally the last few weeks following the killing of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, by a white police officer in the United States (in the state where I grew up).

Jordan and I and Thani have been following the news, reading up on the issues, and doing our best to process everything. It's hard to know what to say at a time like this, but we feel the need to say something. The thing we want to say most of all is that if you are a person of color in our community, know that we want to support you as best we can.

There will be more to do and say. Systemic racism affects all of our lives, and we want DigitalScrapbook.com to be a part of the change that is needed so badly in our society. But it can be difficult to know how we can best engage these issues in a practical way. First of all we want to take time to listen and learn.

If you are a person of color in our community and have anything you would like to share with us, publicly or privately, we want to hear you. There are no expectations or requirements for anyone to speak, but we want you to know that we support you, and we are listening. If you would like to say anything to us or to our community, we welcome you to send us a message using our site's contact form. We can help facilitate public statements, or anonymous statements, for anyone who desires.

To the rest of our community: I hope you will join us in taking the time to listen and learn more so that we can all work together to stamp out the ongoing problem of systemic racism. There are lots of resources available online for learning about this deeply entrenched and global issue. If you feel the need or desire to respond to this post, have questions about this issue, or have thoughts for how we can best move forward as a community, please don't hesitate to also send us a message via our contact form.
