"Wait, don't leave" ad keeps popping up

Don't know if anyone else is having this, but even when I'm logged in and active, I sometimes get the "Wait, don't leave yet" popup when I go to leave a page.

Naturally, I get it when I'm not logged in and just come by to check something. Thought maybe it was because I'd timed out but still show to be logged in. But it does it when I've only been on a few minutes. I clear my cache everyday before leaving work, so I know that's not it as it just started happening the last week or so.

Just wanted to let the possible bug be known.

That has been happening to me as well, since Sunday.

I have never even seen this ad. smiley

Lisa and Emily .... they really really want to keep you smiley smiley

I guess I shouldn't leave then, should I smiley

Yes, I too have been noticing those popups a lot more lately, even just after I log in. I think something is going a little bit strangely, probably just a setting.

I must spend way too much time here as I've never seen a please, don't leave... smiley ha ha ha

bwahahaha! Shawna! That is funny!!! I do use Chrome and I do have add blockers on so that may (or not) be a factor.

Haha! Never leave!! Jordan's looking into the settings...

Lol .. glad it's a bug and I'm welcome here! smiley

Hi all, sorry if that popup has been a little obtrusive lately... I've tweaked the settings, and once you see that popup and close it, you shouldn't see it again for a good long while (on the same browser, at least). If you keep seeing it again and again on the same web browser, please let me know!

Thanks Jordan!

So, I'm still getting the pop up. It only is happening to me once after I log in. Does it have anything to do with the Sumo Me Log in icon that I see in the upper right hand area of the page?

I'm still getting it, too. I don't see a Sumo Me Login Icon, though. I'm using Firefox and they've added some new icons, but I had the pop up issue well before the Firefox upgrade on Friday.

I am still getting this pop-up too! I am using Internet Explorer.

I have never even see this.. I use Chrome, and sometimes IE on my own and other computers.

I´m having the "please subscribe to the newsletter" everytime I open the site, after scrolling down through the first page, everytime I log in. Is´t it possible to teach the software that I´m already subscribed?

A annoying popup asking for subscription also appears when I am reading Marisa´s blog. It´s even more annoying because it always appear in the climax (I hope you use this word in English) of the text... I´m not subscribed to the blog, but I feel I don´t need, since I´m here at least once a day....

I'm having the same issues. I know Jordan's been messing around with things, and now he's gone on a trip! Hopefully on Monday he can look into it.

Hm... sorry about the popups showing multiple times. I'm not sure what's going on here, as both of those popups (subscribe to our newsletter, and subscribe to Marisa's blog) are set to only be displayed again to the same person after 1 year.

This is kept track of via cookies, though, so if you clear reset your browser, or clear the cookies, the popups will show again. Could that be what's happening?

If that's not it, I'm not sure what could be happening, as I am not able to reproduce the problem otherwise (the popups only show for me again if I clear my cookies).

I'm getting the newletter subscribe popup now as well as the "wait, don't leave" one. They seem to take turns lol. Since I'm on during the day at work, as opposed to home, I do clear out my cookies each day via CCleaner. But, I've always done that and the popups have just begun in the last few weeks. I get them even if I log out and log in later, before clearing any cookies.

I use google chrome and I´ve never cleaned my cookies. Do Chrome clean them automatically?

@Lorien: not normally. I use Chrome, and like I said, I never see these popups again unless I manually clear my cookies. Perhaps you have an extension installed that is doing that (cleaning your cookies automatically)? Are you still seeing the popups a lot? Do you get them on every single page, or once per time that you log in, or what exactly?

You could try resetting Chrome, if it's not too much trouble, but I know that is a bit of a pain smiley

I always clear my cookies before I shut down my computer.

It's a safety measure for me because of trojans and viruses. I had a trojan that launched when I
turned the computer on when I hadn't cleared the cookies in IE. One of the cookies stored was
actually an .exe file that launched on it's own. It took over everything on my computer. Those
cookies end up in there when pop ups from other sites are up to no good...like the recent problem
trying to download from 4shared. Some of the blogs lately have had malware problems too. I've
come across a few lately when going to a blogspot(dot)com scrap sites that redirect immediately
off of the blog that I was trying to view. I shut down that page as fast as possible before it can
even fully load...LOL!

By the way, I never use IE anymore...always FF and Chrome!

For those of us that don't leave cookies in our browsers when shutting down, I'm not sure there is a
way around keeping the pop ups from here from showing up. But they only show up once a day if I've
been here and come back later, so it's not a big issue for me. smiley

Yesterday they didn´t appear. The one on Marisa´s blog, however, appear 100% of times when I´m reading the two final paragraphs of the post. I just didn´t read her blog yesterday! smiley
