Thank you so much for all your hard work, Shelley! I can't wait to see your alpha!

Thanks for posting my blog link, Cintia!

Ok, it's all posted in the thread Marisa set-up. I have my blog post up and I noticed so did Cintia. I'm sure we will see Violet's soon. Catherine, I wasn't sure if you were going to post it on your blog or not but I included the preview I found on Cintia's post and your webiste.

Great job ladies and thanks! You were all great to work with.

Thanks to all of you! I had a blast!

Girls, you are the best!!! Thank you so much for everything! I made the preview of Cat's part because I thought we should include her since we where including everyone that created for the kit, but I sent her a pm asking if it was ok and never got a reply... Hopefully it is all good! Shelley, Violet and Cat you are all stars!!!! smiley

Great job everyone! How long do we want to keep the freebie up? Big kits like this I usually offer for 2-4 weeks then take down since they take up a lot of space on the server, it's 290 MB! Let me know your thoughts on this since I know some leave freebies up indefinitely.

I'd say leave it up however long you prefer, no sense in taking up a huge chunk of space on your server forever. Just drop a note here letting us know when you take it down so we can change our blog posts. I'll then repackage my own part and offer that alone on my blog, since I am one of the "indefinitely" freebie people. smiley

I'm surprised at how many have downloaded it, considering it's not a blog train and I don't think Marisa has mentioned it through the DigitalScrapbook.com blog as she did last time. I wonder how people are finding out about it? I guess from our blog posts? I have a small following, but over 400 people have already downloaded (which makes me happy, yay!). Does one of you have a big blog following?

I'm thinking about a month. After that long I usually only see an occasional download, so it doesn't really seem worth it to take up all that space, it's about 6 times the size of my normal blog train freebie.

Ok Violet do tell how you know how many have downloaded it? I thought only I could see that if I was logged into my bitly account. I would like to know how to find that out??? I was going to share that here this week to let you all know.

I do have over 1100 facebook likes and I shared my blog post on FB. My freebies also usually get picked up by the freebie sites as well. My October PS blog train was downloaded over 750 times! The most I have seen yet. We'll see how close this gets to that considering it is shared in three different blogs, but not part of a train. Maybe Marisa still will, she did last time, although unless the PS designers were doing one I think each team has posted. If she does that may create some more traffic.

1100 likes! Wow, that must be it. I saw CraftCrave picked it up as well, like you mentioned might have happened.

The way I saw how many downloads is that I entered the download links into my own Bitly account. I am not clear on whether or not the count then starts from when I added the link to my account or if because Bitly was already tracking for you it can give me the complete number of clicks since you first posted. I LOVE the ability to track downloads on Bitly! Mine always get a bit fuzzy because I offer a Dropbox direct download and a Mediafire backup link in case Dropbox is maxed for the day, and I can never tell if the people clicking the Mediafire link are just in a "download all the things!!" clicking frenzy or genuinely getting their sole copy through that link because Dropbox is maxed or for some other reason.

I get such a thrill out of people downloading my stuff that it's been worth it to me so far to leave them up (I'm also not paying for the space, which makes a big difference). I went to check my stats just now and I am staggered to see that my first blog train contribution for the Retro Kitchen blog train in Feb '13 has by now been downloaded almost 3000 times! It looks like it was several hundred in the first few days and then peters off to 0-20 a day, which I guess adds up over time. That one has journal cards, and one thing I've learned is that people - especially Pinterest people - loooove journal cards. smiley

Hi girls,
I am good with the month schedule too Shelley. I'll do as Violet, repack and reupload as I don't take the freebies down either... (I don't host at pay sites either and I like to have them up, it has happenned to me that I had to download a kit I lost...)

ok, thanks for understanding. I leave some smaller freebies up indefinitely but the big ones usually come down after a month. I'll let you know!

Shelley: You could also, if you wanted, repackage your own part if you wanted to have up something smaller and we could all be responsible for hosting our own parts for as long as we individually choose. At the end of the month I'll let people know in my blog post that they can find your part on your blog, Cintia, and you as well Shelley if that's what you decide. I'm happy either way, it was so generous of you to host the whole shebang for all of us!

Sounds good! Just wanted to share some of the comments from my blog with you all:

Just popping in to let you know we are at over 850 downloads!

Wheeee!

Hey ladies!

Congrats Violet on the designer position here at DigitalScrapbook.com!

Just wanted to pop in here and let you know that I will be taking down the direct download links on Friday. Hopefully that will give you enough time to get it switched over? I really need the server space now, I'm opening up a store at the end of the month! Let me know if you won't be able to transition your downloads by Friday and let me know when you can. I think I am just going to expire mine for right now. I just don't have time to re-package and upload them in dropbox right now.

Thanks,
Shelley

Congratulations on opening your new store, Shelley! That is very exciting! And thanks for the congrats smiley

Thank you again for hosting for so long. I don't know why the "notifications" system here didn't tell me you'd posted in this thread, so I am only seeing this now. Please go ahead and take those down, if you haven't yet. I will update my blog post to say the links are expired and then perhaps at some point in the future I'll reupload my parts.

It was such a pleasure making this kit with all of you - I think we did an amazing job!
