Faith, I hope that you like my shadow styles. They are on the dark side. If you need lighter ones, let me know and I will give them to you in your / my Dropbox folder. smiley

You weren't going off the rails, Sunny. When someone first starts designing, they need to develop an eye for color and layout, and learn how to do extractions, etc. Shadowing is a secondary concern at that point. However, as your skills improve, the gorgeous things that are all on one layer start to make the harsh shadows more obvious, and then it's time to work on learning to shadow your layers. It's not something I mention to a new designer until they've reached the point where their shadows are the major basic they have left to learn, because you can design all kinds of isolated elements and papers and have things be saleable at that point...you just need to know shadowing for layered items like clusters and journal cards and stackers/predecorated papers, and better shadowing helps make your previews look better, too, which means more sales/downloads. So the fact that I mentioned it...it's both a compliment on how far you've come and a pointer to an area that could noticeably use refinement.

I heart Holly Wolf and Sharon Grant. (Thank you Sharon, for the shadow styles!)

Awww, you're too sweet, Sunny! I just share knowledge and encourage.

Sunny, your cards are amazing. And Holly your feedback is as always very helpful.
