Traveling Around Jordan: Wadi Dana

This last week we had the chance to get out of the city and do a little camping. We revisited several favorite places, and I thought this would be a good chance to get back to showing you around the great country of Jordan.

We spent two nights camping at the Wadi Dana nature preserve. The campsite is a little more than two hours from Amman.

"Wadi" just means valley in Arabic, so it's commonly used in place names, and Jordan has lots of spectacular wadis to visit. Wadi Dana is no exception.

I've only visited in the spring, but it's a great time to go since the wildflowers are in bloom. And since we had an exceptionally rainy winter, the desert ground was covered in new growth.

There is so much I would like to say about this Wadi page. I love the scenery and the flowers and the tents. I love the angle of your camera on the one flower photo! I absolutely love the words and layout in your "As soon as I saw you.." and the screen overlay look to it. It goes hand in hand with the "live for the moment" layout. Just beautiful! Love hearing about your adventures and your photos...it is some of my favorite things on this site! Thank you for sharing these with us!!

Looks like a very interesting place to visit, but I'm more curious about the camp site. Are the tents permanently there? What are the stone buildings for?

Awesome, thanks for the photos! I lived in Amman for about a year and a half, but didn't go many places (except for Jerash).
