Summer 2014 Road Trip: Westward
The last leg of our summer journey! The cruise dropped us back in New Jersey and we made our way to Niagara Falls.
▼ Niagara Falls, a popular tourist destination. Few of the tourists seemed to be speaking English, so it seems people come from far away to see these waterfalls, which are very impressive. I think the view of the falls may be better from the Canadian side (although we didn't see it), but on the American side you can stand right next to them, which is impressive in it's own way.
▼ Next stop Chicago, to see the famous bean.
▼ I was only expecting The Bean to be, you know, a giant metal thing. But it was actually REALLY COOL! You should go see it.
▼ Then we made it to Minneapolis to see family and friends. Also it was my birthday:
▼ To celebrate, my sister and I went shopping at the Mall of America. It's a very large mall (the largest in America).
▼ Minneapolis is a cool town and also has a special sculpture.
▼ We went to Como Zoo.
▼ Then it was time to head west again. Driving through the middle of North Dakota, Jordan's window suddenly disappeared! It was crazy. You can't drive very comfortably on the Interstate without a window, so we had to make a stop in a little town to see if the window could be found again. Luckily, we stopped at a mechanic who had lately fixed three windows from Dodge Caravans. He fixed our window in a timely manner, while we walked around a cute, little town and enjoyed a local diner.
▼ And we kept going!
▼ Back in Oregon, we stopped by Multnomah falls, which is a very tall and skinny waterfall.
▼ The best button on the GPS.
▼ Finished! Round trip coast to coast!

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
