August 2023 Digital Scrapbooking Update

After spending some time in Upstate New York, we are spending a couple weeks in the countryside of Quebec, enjoying the fall colors and cooler weather. It felt like summer when we got here and now it's definitely feeling more like winter. I had to buy the kids winter hats today! If you are Canadian could you tell me what you are doing with the milk in a bag? Is there an official pitcher we are supposed to have? And is there a trick for pouring it? We are loving being surrounded by French. Neither of us speak it, but it's fun to hear.

Alright, really here to share an update on my current scrapbooking projects. These are from August, so just when we started our road trip.

@Carole: Unfortunately we are back in the states and soon to be headed to the Midwest. But we’d love to get back to Canada!

Are you, by any chance, heading toward New-Brunswick, the adjacent province? If you do, let me know!!! That is where I am!

With all the talk of milk, I forgot to comment on how wonderful your layouts are! Thank you for sharing your journey with us and for the inspiration.

Thanks for the milk advice! That’s the excitement of traveling. You never know what you’ll find in the grocery store 🤣

Oh wow! Milk in a bag. I haven't seen that in years. I dont even know if they have in the stores where I live in Alberta (or BC where I'm from). Lidia has got it spot-on. Dont cut that tip too big. What a pain to store too, they are too floppy to stand, take up too much valuable fridge real estate because they have to lie flat. I buy the 4L jugs but I do like the 2L containers with the screw off top best. I am going to look for them this weekend when I shop.

Oh my gosh, Marisa, I'm so sorry you have to deal with our milk "in a bag", lol. Yes, you need to have one of those pitchers that they sell in the grocery store made specifically for these bags. Then once you put the bag of milk in the pitcher, you snip the tip of the bag with scissors. Cut just a tiny bit off because if you make the hole too big, it'll be like Niagara Falls and you'll have milk all over the place. Personally, I don't like the bags and I buy the 2 litre containers with the screw off top. Where are you in Quebec? I live just off the island of Montreal.
