5 Tips for Digital Scrapbooking in the Spring

Spring is a wonderful time of year filled with new beginnings, blossoming flowers, and warmer weather. It's also the perfect time to create digital scrapbook pages that capture the beauty of the season. But how? I've got a few tips and ideas for you to try this spring season.

1. Choose a spring-inspired color palette.
Soft and sweet pastel colors are often associated with spring designs, so you'll see a lot of kits reflecting those colors. If pastels feel a little sweet for you, mix in some black elements to make things pop. And don't be afraid to reach for bolder and brighter colors as well. Spring is actually a pretty intense season, so feel free to let you color choices reflect that.

2. Use floral elements.
Finally! It's appropriate to use floral elements! I love nothing more than big floral patterns and floral elements, so I use them all year. But if they aren't really your thing, now is a great time to try out a style that's not your usual.

3. Try a new technique.
Spring is a time of new beginnings, so it's a great time to try out something new. Maybe look to add a few new fonts to your collection. Or learn to create your own elements (check out our tutorials here). Try a different scrapbooking style than is your usual, maybe try a mixed media inspired page, or a minimal page.

4. Keep it simple.
Spring is a busy time of year, so don't stress yourself out by creating complicated layouts. Keep it simple, and let the colors and elements of the season shine.

5. Revisit Spring Memories
I've loved looking back through my photo archive and pulling out photos from seasons past. Take a browse through your photos from past Aprils and give a few of them a new layout.
