Journaling...if you're curious:
"Gosh, I feel like such an old fogie...part of the old guard in the world of scrapbooking...that is, traditional scrapbooking with folders, shelves, and drawers of papers and embellishments of all kinds. Many of those elements having been repurposed from its original office supply intentions. I did try digital scrapbooking in its earlier life...but it just never compared to the 3D designs I could come up with when I had washers, eyelets, brads, bottlecaps, 3D stickers, tiles, [and well, the list could go on and on from here] and the like at hand. And yea, many of my spreads probably weighed over a pound. hahaha Those were the days...sigh....and never would I have ever envisioned myself as a digital scrapbooker. I mean, it was clear how much more beautiful the real 3D pages were in texture, real-ness, and just plain art. As the song goes, “Ain’t nothing like the real thing, baby...ain’t nothing like the real thing.”
But here I am today, almost 3 years after the pandemic started when I first sat down at my computer to throw a few layouts together out of sheer boredom. I hadn’t scrapbooked - traditionally or digitally - for many, many years. Decades, in fact. Raising twin girls meant endless rides here and there, supporting their sports and activities, while trying to get my own tennis matches in and doing family things like vacations, getaways, and the like. Covid-19 put a complete, definitive halt to that lifestyle. Gone were the weekends of driving for hours for soccer games and field hockey tournaments. We were all “sheltering at home” with no end in sight. I couldn’t work because I had just completed the testing for an “emergency” 30-day substitute teaching certificate and all of the schools had shut down...including the elementary and middle schools where I’d planned to help out. It was all gone. The universe hit the “pause” button and the life we had grown accustomed to just...stopped.
One other fact that transitioned me from “traditional” to “digital” was that I Couldn’t get to my physical supplies. They are all safely stored away behind rows of boxes that would require a rather intensive effort collectively from both my husband and me to thin out. We just haven’t had the time or desire but we will have to in a couple of short weeks. So, I had no other choice but to jump back on the digital scrapbooking bandwagon. And how this world has grown and evolved. I have been hooked ever since the first layout I created when the pandemic first started.. Literally, hundreds of layouts later and I’m not slowing down. And I knew there were two things I had to do to keep myself going - one, I needed to define a couple of do-able projects that had specific beginnings and endings and two, a nice community of like-minded scrapbookers for camaraderie through our shared work and mutual inspiration from our collective ideas. I checked both of those boxes pretty quickly and I couldn’t be happier. My two projects are taking quite a bit longer than i had first anticipated but oh well. There is no other timeline than the one I have in my head. And two, www.digitalscrapbook.com (aka pixelscrapper.com) has become my digital scrapbooking home. The community, the challenges, the daily inspiration and encouragement has and will keep me going for many, many more years."

Thanks, Jill and Bina. Good for you, too, Jill!
This is an awesome page, Linda, & I love your story. I've come to digital scrapbooking late, but, it started with the Covid lockdown, as did your rediscovery of digi scrapping.
Oh, that is so sweet of you, Linda! I so enjoyed reading your text. Thank you so much for including it with the description.
'and just plain art' is a keeper. Fantastic page and the journal makes it very special, always love your pages.
@Bina_Greene - here you go...I copied it in the description
